The Group Benefits and Retirement Service Advisor is a licensed insurance professional specializing in the sale and servicing of group health benefit plans and group retirement plans. This role involves identifying and working with corporate clients to assess their group insurance and retirement needs, setting up appropriate plans, and providing ongoing support. The broker will ensure client satisfaction through efficient policy management and adherence to our organizational values of integrity, innovation, and client care. 

What does the Group Benefits and Retirement Services Advisor  do?
  • Conduct thorough assessments of corporate clients’ group benefit and retirement needs to recommend suitable plans, ensuring comprehensive coverage and financial security. 
  • Facilitate the application and implementation process for group health benefit and retirement plans, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience that fosters client trust. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, promoting long-term loyalty and retention through exceptional service. 
  • Manage plan renewals efficiently, ensuring clients are contacted well in advance and provided with all necessary information to make informed decisions. 
  • Provide exceptional ongoing support to clients, addressing queries and plan changes promptly to reinforce our commitment to client care. 
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to attract new corporate clients while promoting existing services, contributing to the organization’s growth. 
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure a unified approach to client service and plan management. 
  • Ensure compliance with provincial regulations and organizational policies in all client interactions and transactions, upholding our commitment to integrity. 
  • Educate clients about group benefits and retirement planning options, empowering them to make informed decisions that support their employees' well-being. 
  • Monitor personal performance metrics, setting and achieving sales goals that align with the organization’s growth objectives. 
  • Engage in networking opportunities to expand professional connections and generate leads, embodying our value of relentless effort. 
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills related to group benefits and retirement plans. 
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, plan details, and transactions to ensure transparency and accountability in all processes. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitors to identify new opportunities and refine sales techniques, supporting our value of innovation. 
  • Gather and analyze client feedback to identify areas for improvement in service delivery, ensuring we are always striving to be better.

  • Effective sales methodologies to successfully attract and retain corporate clients. 
  • Ability to analyze market trends and client data to inform strategic decisions. 
  • Skilled in using CRM systems and other software to manage client information and transactions. 
  • Competence in managing the full lifecycle of group benefit and retirement plans from inception to renewal. 
  • Advanced understanding of financial planning concepts as they relate to group benefits and retirement solutions. 
  • Ability to assess risks related to clients’ group insurance and retirement needs. 
  • Strong skills in preparing and managing documentation related to plans and client interactions.  

Qualifications:
  • Must hold a valid life insurance license in the province of operation 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in group benefits or retirement plan sales,with a proven sales and service track record 
  • An acceptable credit rating, demonstrating appropriate financial management skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred. 
  • Relevant professional designations such as GBA, RPA and CEBS are an asset.

Working Conditions 
  • Works primarily in a standard office setting with a typical climate-controlled environment. The role requires periods of sitting, computer use, and participation in meetings or collaborative sessions. Noise levels are generally low, and the position involves minimal physical exertion. 
  • The role is required to travel at times for meetings with clients and related industry events.
